Oliver Etzel, studied economics at the university of Passau, majoring in business administration and finish his 1st master of science equivalent as Dipl.-Kfm.(Univ.). After working as a consultant and running his own colocation and serverhousing full internet service provider business, he started his 2nd M.Sc.(TUM) at the faculty of mathematics and computer science at the Technische Universität München, majoring in information systems engineering, finishing this winter semester 2013 as M.Sc.(TUM) information systems.
Since June 2011, he works beside his studies as an ICT Expert at the Chair of Agriculture and Food Economics Group at the Center of Life and Food Sciences Weihenstephan of the Technische Universität München to finance his informatics master studies.
His main research focus lies on ICT in agriculture of rural areas in developing countries and regulatory economics aspects in rural areas.
He hold the lecture Knowledge Discovery at master level as a tutor at the chair and is giving some presentations of ITC aspects in developing countries and is fighting for his own linux distribution “AgriLinux” on a RISC class ARM architecture, e.g. at Afrikatag 2013, Technische Universität München. He personally likes the spirit of his Alma Mater – the Technische Universität München
