Edem Aklaku is an Agribusiness enthusiast with Post-Harvest Technology training from an Agricultural Technology background, and over seven years of invaluable managerial experience working in the Private sector. He is currently the owner of Lasorex enterprise - a fast growing agro-based business with international ambitions, that seeks to employ modern year round farming practices such as conservation agriculture to improve agricultural productivity.

 
His involvement has been key in the support, design, development and execution of sponsored research in malaria control, using the Indoor Residual Spraying technique, which has produced significant results in reducing malaria case load and used with success to control malaria in many parts of Ghana. 

He has been momentous in national surveys to get credible data for the control of malaria in Ghana, as well as with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), where he attained insightful diagnostics to the problems limiting collective action in Ghanaian Farmer Based Organizations (FBO’s). Academic research work on mycotoxin contamination in maize, has helped him appreciate that, development led by agriculture will best be achieved through innate collaboration with the health sector through a multidisciplinary approach. 

His successes and failures in start-up business also earned him slots to organize entrepreneurial events and speak on business plan development at youth conferences. Edem is a team player and highly focused with a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of enterprise content management (ECM) and project management, analytical, writing and oral communication skills,
report writing and presentation skills, excellent human relations, ability and willingness to travel extensively including traveling to rural areas, ability to work under little supervision, high sense of commitment to duty and work schedules and ability to work under difficult circumstances. 

Edem Holds an MPhil. Degree in Post-harvest Technology, a BSc. degree in Agricultural Technology (specialize in Mechanization and Irrigation Technology) and certificates in Agribusiness, Project Management, Financial Management, Internet Marketing, Conflict Management and Basic Robot Programming and Simulation.
