Dr. Nikhil Ghosh Hajra is Sustainable Agriculture Consultant, a trainer, consulting firm that specializes in tea and other agri-horticultural crops. He has more than 26 years of career success in designing, monitoring of wide range of sustainable agricultural projects on agronomy, protection, production and processing of tropical crops like tea, rubber, rice and other cereals, major fruits and vegetables. During his professional carriers as project director, advisor and as consultant his responsibilities were to provide professional support to the stakeholders, government departments on different aspects of sustainable cultivation, export and marketing of agri-products. He nurtured productive relations with industry, policy makers, small growers, self-help groups and other stakeholders and scientists. Recently, Dr. Ghosh Hajra served as a consultant in World Bank project in Rwanda, Africa. He has developed organic tea project financed by FAO and Common Fund for Commodities, The Netherlands. He was invited speaker at several international conferences and represented India to the national and international fora. Ghosh Hajra holds doctorate degree in rice breeding and was a visiting scientist at the University of Antwerpen, Belgium. He worked at the Central Science Laboratory, York, UK. He is author of couple of books on organic farming, written ninety five research papers and has received gold medal, national and international awards. Dr. Ghosh Hazra is a member of different committees of Tea Board, Organic Certification Accreditation Committees of Agriculture Processed Food Export Development Authority of India, Quality Council of India, Universities and Bureau of Indian Standards.
