GENERAL INFORMATION The 11th Session of the FAO/WHO Coordinating Committee for Near East is scheduled to take place at FAO Headquarters, Rome, Italy, from 18 September to 22 September 2023. Remote participation (via Zoom) will also be possible for listening and verbal interventions. The Session will start on Monday 18 September at 09:30 am CEST. Discussion sessions will take place on Monday 18, Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 September 2023. The adoption of the report will take place on Friday 22 September 2023 starting at 10:00 am CEST. CCNE11 will be conducted in Arabic, English and French. INFORMATION FOR DELEGATES Practical information for delegates planning to attend CCNE11 at FAO Headquarters, Rome, Italy is available here. ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION All participants should provide their information through the Codex Online Registration System (ORS), latest by 31 August 2023. Please select in the registration form the modality of participation (physical or virtual). Login and password for the online registration have been provided to all Codex Contact Points and Contact Points of Observer Organizations. Pre-CCNE11 WEBINAR A webinar to prepare the delegates for their active participation in the session and to support first-time delegates to CCNE, will be held virtually on Tuesday 12 September 2023 from 14:00 to 15:00 CEST. The Chairperson will introduce items on the agenda and explain how the meeting will be managed to ensure a successful outcome. To register please click the link on the pre-CCNE11 webinar programme. SIDE EVENTS On Thursday 21 September 2023 there will be three side events: 10.30 – 12.00 CEST Monitoring of chemicals in foods – National case study and application of GEMS food (PPT presentation - chemicals) 13.30 – 15.00 CEST Cell-based food: its safety and regulatory aspects within the regional contexts (PPT presentation – cell based) (PPT presentation – national regulations) (PPT presentation – JDOM) 15.30 – 17.00 CEST Codex Trust Fund (CTF) – Opportunities for the region (PPT presentation - CTF) Remote participation (via Zoom) will also be possible for listening and verbal interventions.
