The purpose is to provide agriculture development practitioners and policy makers globally, with guidance, tools and examples of successful integration of gender equality and women’s empowerment into climate smart agriculture work.

New approaches for data collection and analysis (2019) This guidance document provides an overview on data and methods for collecting and analysing sex-disaggregated data in agriculture. It presents current approaches in climate-smart agriculture, measuring biodiversity and efficient use of time resources for gender-responsive development interventions.

Guidance and survey modules for measuring the multiple roles of forests in household welfare and livelihoods (2016) This sourcebook is intended to help improve data collection on aspects of forests relating to household welfare and livelihoods. It offers practical guidance and measurement tools that can be included in existing social or socioeconomic surveys.

Forests, Food Security and Gender: linkages, disparities and priorities for action (2013) Written as a background paper for the International Conference on Forests for Food Security and Nutrition, this publication demonstrates the importance of gender equality for food security in forest dependent communities. 

2010-2011 The State of Food and Agriculture This edition of The State of Food and Agriculture addresses Women in agriculture: closing the gender gap for development. This report clearly confirms that the Millennium Development Goals on gender equality (MDG 3) and poverty and food security (MDG 1) are mutually reinforcing.

Gender Stock-Taking in the Forestry Department (2012) This report details the information gathered through interviews with Forestry staff in headquarters and through questionnaires submitted to forestry officers in field offices. Comments received during consultations with Forestry staff members describe a variety of positions on the relation between gender issues and forestry work.

Gender Mainstreaming in Forestry in Africa Regional Report (2007) This study on Gender Mainstreaming in Forestry in Africa was undertaken by a team of local experts from ten African countries in west, east central and southern Africa. The team, with expertise in gender and development, has been drawn from multidisciplinary fields including forestry, social science and natural resources among others.
