Green Economy in the Apennine region

Camerino, Italy
From: 22.05.2018 to: 23.05.2018

In the framework of the Mountain Partnership, the University of Camerino, Italy, and the European Academy of Bolzano/Bozen – Eurac Research, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea and the Italian Delegation in Alpine Convention are organizing a conference on “Green Economy in the Apennine region”. Universities, public institutions and private companies are invited to participate.

The conference will collect green economy-related methods and experiences to try to answer the questions, “How can the features of green economy be instilled in complex areas? How can the characteristics and assets of mountain areas be enhanced through a sustainable economic development approach,” reflecting on shared priorities and on the opportunities offered by different territories to stakeholders and sectors involved in innovation at large. The goal of the conference is to take stock on a model for instilling green economy and fostering its development in complex areas. In particular, we aim to create the foundations of a framework for a green development strategy in the Apennine region.

The Sixth Report on the State of the Alps (RSA 6), coordinated by the German Presidency of the Alpine Convention and published in 2017 by the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention, will also be disseminated at the event. The conference will explore the possibility to share the ongoing experience of the Alps and the methods adopted for the RSA 6 with the Apennines.

The conference language will be Italian.
