World Food Day 2013- UN restaurants in Geneva to serve Quinoa
In the context of World Food Day 2013 (WFD) and this year's theme “Sustainable Food Systems for Food Security and Nutrition” UN restaurants in Geneva which include the Palais des Nations, WIPO, UNHCR, UNICEF, and the International Environment House will serve quinoa. This initiative is directly related to the 2013 International Year of Quinoa and will be organized in parallel with the traditional WFD events inside and outside the Palais des Nations organized by FAO Geneva.
A range of savoury and sweet dishes made from quinoa will be available on 16th October 2013 to the over 4000 people that eat in these cafeterias daily. In addition, a dietician will be on location to answer questions on quinoa’s nutritional qualities and a booklet with further information and quinoa recipes will be distributed.
