The first meeting of the Steering Committee of the International Year on Soils (IYS) took place on 29 October at FAO Headquarters in Rome.
The American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, and Soil Science Society of America is organizing this annual meeting which will take place from 2- 5 November 2014 in Long Beach, California.
The XX Latin American Congress and XVI Peruvian Congress of Soil Science will be held in Cusco, Peru, from 9 to 15 November 2014.
