1. The Conference paid tribute to the late Norris E. Dodd who died in Phoenix, Arizona, on 23 June 1968. Norris E. Dodd had been Director-General of FAO from 1948 to 1953.
2. The Conference paid tribute to the late S. A. Hasnie of Pakistan, who had been Independent Chairman of the Council from 1955 to 1959.

3. The Conference paid tribute to the late sculptor Mirko Basaldella, of Udine (Italy), who died in Cambridge, Massachusetts on 27 November 1969. Mirko was the creator of the decoration of the ceiling of the Conference Plenary Hall.

5. Prime Minister Mariano Rumor, of Italy, paid a visit to the Conference on Monday 10 November 1969. Mr. L. Radi, Under-Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture (Italy) read a message to the Conference from President Saragat of Italy.
6. The sixth in the series of lectures at regular Conference sessions in memory of Frank Lidgett McDougall, a founding father of the Organization, was delivered by Dr. Alberto Lleras Camargo of Colombia.
G. Presentation of the B. R. SEN awards for 1968 and 1969
7. The Chairman of the Conference presented the first B. R. Sen Awards to Mr. C. L. Pan and Mr. D. S. Scott for the years 1968 and 1969 respectively. These annual awards, created under Conference Resolution 33/67, go to the FAO field officers who have contributed most to the progress of the country or countries to which they have been assigned. Mr. Pan had served as a plant breeding expert in U. A. R., Tunisia, Korea and Iraq. Mr. Scott had served in India as Project Manager of UNDP Special Fund projects for sheep and wool development.
