Constitutional provisions

Right to water: En tema de acceso al agua, cabe destacar el artículo 366: “El bienestar general y el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de la población son finalidades sociales del Estado. Será objetivo fundamental de su actividad la solución de las necesidades insatisfechas de salud, de educación, de saneamiento ambiental y de agua potable.”

Natural resources: El Estado planificará el manejo y aprovechamiento de los recursos naturales, para garantizar su desarrollo sostenible, su conservación, restauración o sustitución. Además, deberá prevenir y controlar los factores de deterioro ambiental, imponer las sanciones legales y exigir la reparación de los daños causados. Asimismo, cooperará con otras naciones en la protección de los ecosistemas situados en las zonas fronterizas (art. 80).
