These study tours were organized by FAO under the UNDP (Technical Assistance Sector) in cooperation with the U.S.S.R. Government. FAO/TA reports No. 2117 and 2443 give the details of the tours.
Participants were provided, in advance, with draft English translations of the Soviet lectures which were delivered in the Russian language and interpreted into English. The lectures, as they appear in this volume, have been edited by Mr. D.D. Venables, of the Fishery Intelligence and Reports Office, FAO Department of Fisheries. The bibliographic citations were not checked as most of the reference papers were not available to the editor.
This present report is being distributed to the participants in the Study Tours, and, on request, is available to other persons and institutions interested in the subject matter.
