The two standard hydrographic sections were carried out, one on the equator, and the other off Pte. Panga. Figure 2 shows the results, and compared with the findings from the previous surveys it will be seen that no major change in the hydrographic regime has occurred during the year. A slight decline in surface temperature and a minor increase in salinity in the near coastal surface waters have occurred, due to less solar radiation and less water runoff from the rivers. Based on the three coverages carried out so far, the hydrographical regime does not seem to induce any seasonal limitations on fish distribution on the shelf.
