人和社会价值观:保护和提升农村生计、公平性和社会福祉对可持续粮食和农业系统至关重要

生态农业高度强调人和社会的价值观,例如尊严、平等、包容和公正,这都有助于实现关于改善生计的可持续发展目标。生态农业将粮食生产、销售和消费者的诉求和需要置于粮食系统的中心。通过提高自主性和适应能力来管理生态农业系统,生态农业的做法使得人和社区有能力消除贫困、饥饿和营养不良,促进包括食物权在内的人权,并悉心管理环境,这样子孙后代也能享受繁荣。

生态农业通过为妇女创造机遇来解决性别不平等问题。从全球范围看,从事农业工作的劳动力有将近一半是妇女。妇女在家庭粮食安全、膳食多样性和健康,以及在生物多样性的保护和可持续使用方面扮演重要角色。尽管如此,妇女在经济地位方面仍然被边缘化,权利也极易受到侵犯,且妇女做出的贡献往往得不到认可。通过集体行动来分享知识并且创造实现商业化的机遇,生态农业能帮助从事家庭农业的农村妇女获得更高的自主性,能为妇女变得更加自主打开新的天地,并通过参加生产者小组等方式在家庭、社区以及其他层面为妇女赋权。妇女的参与对生态农业来说必不可少,而且妇女常常是生态农业项目的领导人。

在世界上许多地方,农村青年面临就业危机。生态农业作为体面工作的来源提供了一个很有希望的解决方法。生态农业是基于一种不同的农业生产方式,它的特点是知识集约型、环境友好型、有社会担当、有创新性和依赖熟练劳工。同时,世界各地的农村青年有活力、创造力和积极改变世界的动力。他们需要的正是支持和机遇。

作为一种自下而上、草根式的可持续农村发展范式,生态农业给人们赋权,让他们自身成为推动变革的力量。
