The Committee on World Food Security (CFS) held its Forty-sixth Session from 14 to 18 October 2019 at FAO Headquarters in Rome. The theme of the Session was "Accelerating Progress on SDG2 to Achieve All the SDGs". The Session was attended by delegates from 114 Members of the Committee; 12 non-Member States of the Committee and by representatives

The Session celebrated the 45th Anniversary of the Committee and it focused on the theme “Accelerating progress on SDG2 to achieve all the Sustainable Development Goals”, in recognition of the fact that world hunger is on the rise since 2015, returning to levels not seen since 2010–2011.

Youths are raising up in a time where the world is at critical crossroads. The CFS, as the foremost inclusive platform on food security and nutrition, aiming at the progressive realization of human’s right to adequate food, offers a unique opportunity to mark a change in direction by meaningfully involving youth perspectives and demands in its policy decision-making processes.
