
Ms Corinna Hawkes
Director, Agrifood Systems and Food Safety, FAO
Ms Corinna Hawkes is Director of the Division of Agrifood Systems and Food Safety at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). In this role, she leads efforts to advance a systems-based approach to transforming agrifood systems and oversees FAO’s urban agrifood systems programme.
Prior to joining FAO, Ms Hawkes was Professor of Food Policy and Director of the Centre for Food Policy at City, University of London. Her career spans leadership and research roles at the International Food Policy Research Institute, the University of São Paulo, the World Health Organization, the Global Nutrition Report, and World Cancer Research Fund International.
A recognized leader in the field of agrifood systems and nutrition, she co-founded the Next Gen(d)eration Leadership Collective in 2020 to foster courageous leadership and address power imbalances in nutrition and food systems.
Mónica Corrales Rodrigáñez. Licenciada en Derecho por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Máster en Asesoría Fiscal de Empresas (ICADE, 1987), y Máster en Turismo (INAP, 2015).
Pertenece al Cuerpo Superior de Administradores Civiles del Estado desde 1989 y ha desarrollado su carrera profesional en la Administración Pública Española con más de 30 años de experiencia en desarrollo internacional y políticas ambientales, con especialización en cooperación internacional al desarrollo, cambio climático, medio ambiente y pesca sostenible.
Con anterioridad a su incorporación a la AECID en mayo de 2025, ha sido Vocal asesora del Fondo de Cooperación para Agua y Saneamiento (FCAS); Vocal Asesora en Medio Ambiente, Agua y Cambio Climático en AECID y Consejera técnica en la Oficina de Planificación y Evaluación de la Secretaría de estado de Cooperación Internacional del Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores y Cooperación.
Entre otros cargos ha sido Directora General de Pesca Sostenible y Subdirectora General de Asuntos Jurídicos y Gobernanza Internacional Pesquera en Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación; Vocal Asesora en Cambio Climático e Impacto Ambiental en el Gabinete de la Secretaría de Estado de Infraestructuras y Planificación en Ministerio de Transportes; Coordinadora de la Oficina Española de Cambio Climático (OECC) del Ministerio de Medio Ambiente; y, Oficial de Programa, División de Medio Ambiente y Cambio Climático, PNUD-FMAM, Nueva York (Programa JPO.)
Lebogang is the Acting Deputy Director General responsible for Food Security and Agrarian Reform in the National Department of Agriculture, South Africa. Her responsibilities include coordination of food and nutrition security commitments at global, regional and national level. She provides oversight to the country food systems pathways coordination and implementation.
She served Government in various responsibilities ranging from Extension and Advisory Services, Farmer Support and Coordination and Sector Capacity Development. Lebogang is the focal for South Africa World Food Forum Youth Chapter. She has led the establishment of WFF national youth chapter in collaboration with FAO. Lebogang led South African G20 Food Security Task Force and participated in the Agriculture Working Group as part of South Africa’ G20 Presidency.
Toby Parker is the United Kingdom Chargé d'Affaires to the United Nations Agencies in Rome, bringing a wealth of experience in diplomacy, foreign affairs, and international development. Prior to his current role, he served at the heart of the UK government as Private Secretary to the Prime Minister for Foreign Affairs at Number 10 Downing Street (2022–2024), following two years as Private Secretary to the Foreign Secretary at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
From 2015 to 2020, Toby held a range of overseas and policy-focused positions with the Department for International Development, including Deputy Head of Policy in South Sudan, Policy and Programme Adviser in Tanzania, and Fund Manager during a secondment to UNICEF in New York.
His commitment to global equity also includes his role as Policy Adviser on Violence Against Women and Girls. Toby holds a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from the University of Oxford, a Postgraduate Diploma in International Finance from the University of London, and a BA in Economics and Politics from the University of Manchester.
Afshan Khan is an Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Coordinator of the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement. Ms Khan was appointed by United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. In this role, Ms Khan is the highest authority in the United Nations for the global nutrition agenda.
Ms Khan has been an international public servant for more than 30 years and has held numerous senior roles within the United Nations system and the broader international community. Most recently, she served in UNICEF as the Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia and Special Coordinator for the Refugee and Migrant Response in Europe. She has also led UNICEF’s humanitarian work as Director of Emergency Operations and its external relations with governments as Director of Public-Sector Alliances and Resource Mobilization.
Ms Khan also has a broad range of United Nations expertise including assignments with the Inter-Agency Standing Committee for Humanitarian Affairs, the Executive Office of the Secretary-General, and the United Nations Development Group. From 2012 to 2014, she served as the CEO of the non-profit humanitarian organization Women for Women International.
Throughout her career, Ms Khan has had extensive field experience, including assignments in Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Jamaica, Kenya, Mozambique and South Africa. In her assignments, Ms Khan’s goals have always included improving nutrition. She has supported the implementation of national nutrition programmes, working alongside government and community organizations on infant and young child feeding, and advocating for the prevention of malnutrition - including through investment in social protection programmes, as well as the treatment of acute malnutrition in humanitarian emergencies and conflict settings.
She has also worked with a broad range of stakeholders – including governments, civil society organizations and the private sector – to advocate for and implement evidence-based interventions to improve nutrition outcomes. Ms Khan was born in Hyderabad, India, and grew up in Montreal, Canada. She is a dual Canadian and British national. She has a Master’s degree in public policy from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in political science from McGill University. She lives in Geneva, Switzerland.
H.E. Paul Gulleik Larsen
Ambassador at large and Special Envoy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norway
Paul Gulleik Larsen is Norway’s Special Envoy for promoting international food security and climate initiatives, sustainable and climate-smart transformation of agriculture and food systems, working at the intersection of foreign and development policy, finance, and innovation to address hunger, climate, and biodiversity challenges, including as representative of Norway in FAO, in the Alliance of Champions for Food Systems Transformation, and in the Munich Security Conference Food Security Task Force.
Paul brings over three decades of experience in international development, foreign policy, and diplomacy.
He previously served as Norway’s Ambassador in Yangon and Canberra and held senior roles at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UN, including as Director and Chief of Staff of the World Food Programme (WFP). His career has focused on advancing food security, humanitarian response, and climate action, with a strong emphasis on building partnerships that deliver systemic impact.
