Synopsis (short abstract) This comic strip, marking the International Year of Pulses (IYP) 2016, teaches children that pulses are a powerful ally in achieving food security. They are economically affordable, can be grown in dry environments, and have a low food wastage footprint, as they can be stored for long periods without spoiling. The comic strip is part of the series “FAO Kids”. The FAO kids are five superheroes with the mission to eradicate hunger and malnutrition, eliminate poverty and ensure sustainable use of n atural resources in order to make the world a better place.
