    This analysis aims to summarize the views submitted on the topics 2(b) and 2(c) of the Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture (KJWA) decision (4/CP.23), namely: Topic 2(b) - Methods and approaches for assessing adaptation, adaptation co-benefits and resilience; and XXTopic 2(c) - Improved soil carbon, soil heath and soil fertility under grassland and cropland as well as integrated systems, including water management. A complete analysis, covering all submission by Parties as well as observers, will be made available following the 50th session of the Subsidiary Bodies to the UNFCCC (SB 50), Bonn (17-27 June 2019). The current draft analysis is available for review and comments.

    This analysis aims to summarize the views submitted on KJWA topics 2(b) and 2(c) that were discussed during the SB 50 in June 2019, namely: Topic 2(b) - Methods and approaches for assessing adaptation, adaptation co-benefits and resilience; and Topic 2(c) - Improved soil carbon, soil health and soil fertility under grassland and cropland as well as integrated systems, including water management. The analysis intends to make the wide range of views submitted more easily accessible to those interested, including to Parties and observers to the UNFCCC, but also experts working on climate change more generally, as well as interested members of the public.

    Parties and observers under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) met in Bonn in December 2018 to discuss the Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture (KJWA) topic 2(a) on 'Modalities for implementation of the outcomes of the five in-session workshops on issues related to agriculture and other future topics that may arise from this work.' This brief provides a summary of those discussions and suggests potential entry points for the KJWA going forward.
