    This flyer is jointly developed by the Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia in charge of Economic Affairs, in its role as National Designated Authority (NDA) to GCF and FAO in the frames of the project “Support for the management of an effective national coordinative mechanism regarding the Green Climate Fund”. It is one of the information products in the frames of the GCF Readiness programme in North Macedonia with a specific aim to familiarize the key national stakeholders (staff of ministries, government agencies, bodies, academia, private sector, civil society) with the Green Climate Fund (GCF), namely - what is the GCF, how the GCF resources can be accessed, what are the GCF architecture and investment criteria, what is the role of the NDA, what are the available financial instruments of the GCF and how project proposals are submitted to the GCF.

    Stakeholder Engagement Factsheet - Support for the management of an effective national coordinative mechanism regarding the Green Climate Fund 2019

    The aim of this factsheet is to present the stakeholder engagement activities implemented in the frames of the North Macedonia’s first Green Climate Fund Readiness and Preparatory Support Project “Support for the management of an effective national coordinative mechanism regarding the Green Climate Fund” implemented in 2019 by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) under guidance and leadership of the Cabinet of the Deputy President of the Government of North Macedonia in charge of Economic Affairs, as National Designated Authority (NDA) to the GCF. The Project engaged all relevant stakeholders in consultative processes aiming at prioritization of North Macedonia’s strategic climate investments for GCF funding. This also involved engagement of the private sector in the implementation of project/programme ideas, as well as consideration of the Environmental and Social Risk Management Tools according the GCF’s Environmental and Social Safeguards (ESS) and gender aspects. The consultation with relevant stakeholders aimed to ensure that chosen GCF priorities are fully aligned with the national plans and strategies and other on-going efforts at national level. National consultations were conducted through consultation events engaging all relevant stakeholders, including national institutions, private sector, civil society, academia and international organizations. This factsheet was jointly developed by the Cabinet of the Deputy President of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia in charge of Economic Affairs, in its role as NDA to GCF and FAO.     This newsletter is jointly developed by the Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia in charge of Economic Affairs, in its role as National Designated Authority (NDA) to GCF and FAO in the frames of the project “Support for the management of an effective national coordinative mechanism regarding the Green Climate Fund”. It aims to keep key national stakeholders (national institutions, government agencies, private sector, civil society, academia, international organizations) in the Republic of North Macedonia up-to-date with the milestones in the implementation of the project and the latest GCF activities at country-level in alignment with national priorities and other on-going climate change initiatives.
