No results found.The Friends of User Rights 2021 – Online Expert Meeting was organized by FAO to seek the participating experts’ inputs on the work done by the FAO Tenure Team since the last Friends of User Rights meeting in 2019 and guide the way forward on FAO’s fisheries tenure work. The expected inputs from the meeting included (1) review and comment on the draft policy brief of tenure and tenure-related definitions, (2) review and comment on the paper on inland fisheries, and (3) recommendations for the way forward, including next steps and additional activities for the development of guidance on how to design and implement appropriate tenure, access and user rights in fisheries. There was broad agreement among participants that FAO should explore different formats for the papers to contribute to and support technical guidance. Regarding the technical guidance, participants provided several outlines and content options that FAO could use in the future. -

No results found.FIAP is a Forest Investment Appraisal Package. It calculates the economic performance of forestry plantations according to your selection of species, prices, costs and other factors. It is designed for the evaluation of a single coupe which by definition within the package must have a single felling year. This User Guide tells you what you need to know to run FIAP. This version of FIAP (PC-FIAP) is designed to run on a personal computer using standard spreadsheet software, in this case Excel v .5.Oc for Windows. Although it uses Excel as a base arid is similar in layout, the package is a template and cannot be saved over or modified by mistake. PC-FIAP is customised for forest managers, but it uses ordinary spreadsheet conventions. If you are not familiar with spreadsheets, it may be wise to read the introductory chapters of the User Guide for Excel v.5.Oc for Windows, although a few notes on spreadsheets are included in this FIAP User Guide. Wide flexibility is offered within FIAP. You can work with up to 20 productive crop components at once, with up to eight different price-size curves, and carry out What-If? analysis to find how results are affected by altering any of the costs, prices or conditions you have selected. You can include miscellaneous income and grants, and you can view results as graphs or tables. Because FIAP runs under Windows, you can run other Windows applications at the same time, and these may be able to interact with FIAP. For example, specialist data can be prepared in another spreadsheet or database for use in FIAP, or FIAP results can be linked to reports in other applications such as word-processors. To make use of such facilities, or to find out about computer basics such as files and directories or how to use a mouse, refer to the appropriate manuals or on-line help systems, including those for Excel v.5.Oc for Windows. -

The objective of ‘Guidelines on Gender Mainstreaming and a Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA)’ is to provide a concise and compact guide for FAO REU / SEC staff to use at different stages of the project cycle. By bringing together the key elements of gender mainstreaming and HRBA found within the different guidelines, handbooks, tool kits and other documents used by FAO and the UN system as a whole , and by compiling their essential points into a user-friendly format, this publication directly a ims to ease the process of observing and successfully incorporating these crosscutting themes into all levels of the project cycle (design, implementation, conclusion, monitoring and evaluation), and into all activities and documents of the respective projects.
