I am also eager to learn from the contributions of all experts and participants. It will be a remarkable beginning for all who intend to utilize thepotential of mobile telephony for the development of agriculture. What I expect,is that we have to consider this technology in the most pragmatic and practical manner.Just theoretical deliberations can't contribite any thing meaningful. Best Regards, FATEMAKHATUN

Hi. My name is Tom Franklin. My most recent job was Senior Policy Adviser on HIV and AIDS at UNICEF. I am interested in pushing the HIV/AIDS community to make much more use of the phone, not only for treatment compliance, epidemiological surveillance and the dissemination of AIDS messages, but also as a means of putting people affected by HIV and AIDS together so that they can develop their own solutions. I am also interested in addressing the inequalities between men and women as part of the challenge facing development initiatives in whatever sector they are. This being an agricultural forum, I am sure that the distribution of duties, labour and income between men and women will receive the attention they deserve - though I will believe it when I see it! :)
