An emerging area of e-agriculture that is of great interest and relevance in Africa is the use of mobile telephones and other electronic gadgets to communicate local and international prices of commodities to farmers. As you may be aware, prices serve as incentives as well as disincentives to farmers and entrepreneurs before going back to their farms in order to prepare for the cultivation of crops whose prices are favourable. This helps the farmers to maximise time and make swift decisions concerning the management of their meagre financial and non-financial resources.
