Telecommunication has changed the face of the world.mobiles have become handy for exchange of ideas and faster/instant communication. Mobiles would defenitely play an important role in agriculture provided the messages are in simple words, in local language with clarity. Otherwise there would every possibility of mis understanding the message that may be more harmful rather than assistance. Mojarity of farming community are not literates or partially literate and communicating with them through written message would be risky. Therefore it is advisible a committed person with higher secondary education is made the nodal agency to communicate the messages properly and if possible demonstrate it to persons who ever seeks the advise. It is quite intersting and may have teething problems but would benefit the farmers in the long run.

Now days Mobile is best media for agriculture extension , as we are in agriculture extension in india we earlier used inland letter or post card for communication with farmer but its hectic job and we not sure whether it can reach to mass people in rural area to right person and its costly affair but from last 4 5 year we collecting mobile numbers of farmers ,and from last 2 year we are using this media for communication with farmer , sending sms regarding agri extension activity what we organise in india , we got very god response through this media , now people are comfortable with writing and reading message on mobile
