For more than four decades Dr. Arvin Bunker has been a dedicated student of agricultural sector development and an accomplished analyst, technical specialist, Chief of Party, and Chief Executive Officer of agriculture and agribusinesses finance companies in Bolivia and Romania. He has served in governments, civil societies, and private sector companies. His consulting assignments include the Americas, the Caribbean, North and Sub-Sahara Africa, Asia, Europe and Eurasia and the Middle East. As a food security advisor during the last 15 years he has led teams for 19 program strategies/designs, nine program evaluations with recommended ongoing interventions, two investment due diligence instruments, two privatizations, and served as the senior technical advisor for five long-term world-wide development programs. Early this century he guided development of multiple on-line M&E systems for global and regional development programs, guided teams designing and delivering accounting and financial information systems, and helped introduce a smart-card based technology for agriculture and rural sector finance. He currently serves as a Senior Food Security Advisor for Crown Agents USA. He received MS and Ph.D. degrees in Agricultural Economics from the University of Illinois.
