Iam a Ugandan specializing in Tropical and Sub Tropical Horticulture, Crop Science, Ecological Agriculture and Organic Agriculture. I am a student of Integrated Pest Management, Agro-ecosystem analysis and molecular virology. Currently I am the General Secretary for ISOFAR, Chairman Uganda Organic Certification Company Board of Directors, Africa PestNet Moderator, Research Advisor to Agro-Eco Louis Bolk East Africa, Associate Professor of Agriculture for the Agro-Ecology Masters Degree Programme of Uganda Martyrs University. Iam an International Foundation for Science Fellow, and Rothamsted International African Fellowship Programme Fellow. I have also been An Associate Member of IFOAM and Board Member of ISOFAR since 2004. I am a member of NOGAMU and serve on its Programmes Committee and Standards Committee. I am the convener of the Network for Organic Agriculture Research in Africa (NOARA). I previously served as a Research Scientist in the National Agriculture Research Organization (NARO) for 14 years, the Pioneer Dean for the Faculty of Agriculture for 6 years, and Director of Research for Uganda Martyrs University for 4years. I have headed a number of Research and Development projects funded by IFS (IPM), GTZ (Horticulture), Sida (Agro-Ecology), EU (Community Breeding) and IFIUC (Poverty) and worked with many others. I contribute to the OIKOS and University of Zambia training (ITCOA) in Zambia. I am a member of the Ecological Agriculture African Initiative Team launched recently (13th November 2011), and supported by the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation (SSNC).
