I graduated in Political Science in March 2012, and thanks to my final evaluation I was awarded an internship at the Embassy of Italy in Kuala Lumpur, where I spent 6 months having the chance to experience a multiethnic and multi-religious society such as Malaysia, and to travel through Southeast Asian countries. During this journey I met representatives of Sols 24/7, a Malaysian Ngo involved in educational projects in rural areas, which I decided to join after the internship with the Embassy, volunteering in Cambodia for two months, teaching English in the schools and temples of Puok District, a rural village in the Siem Reap Province.
In june 2013 I came back to Italy beginning a Master Degree in Developing Cooperation, and working as a tour leader with English and Spanish speaking people. Thanks to my University grades and my language skills, I gained a 4-month scholarship in Uruguay, where I had the opportunity to observe such a progressive country and to travel around Latin America.
During my thesis research on Least Developing Countries I also spent one month in Malawi (Sub-Saharan Africa), and I graduated cum laude last November 2015 with a thesis on Food security: conceptual definition and cooperative modalities for development. Case study: Malawi.
I believe that my professional knowledge of English and Spanish would be a good asset for filling this intern position, together with my direct knowledge of developing countries, as I studied and worked as a volunteer in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and sub-Saharan Africa.
