I am working as Scientist (Plant Breeding and Genetics) in National Maize Research Program, Rampur, Chitwan, Nepal under Nepal Agricultural Research Council, Nepal since June 2010. I have specialized in agronomy and plant breeding. My current research focused on basic and applied research on maize as well as rice and wheat. I have research experiences on hybrid and open pollinated maize varieties development, maintenance and improvement as well as soil nutrient management for maize grown in various production systems. Working with officers and scientists of NARC, I have developed and released 1 hybrid maize variety and have already submitted 3 early maize varieties for release. I have published 22 peer reviewed journal articles, 5 proceeding papers, 10 scientific abstracts, 18 scientific reports, 10 magazine articles, 1 extension publication, 1 newsletter article and 1 book. I have joined and am working as editor/reviewer of more than 30 international peer reviewed open access journals and 6 national publications (annual reports, books). Before embarking on my career as Scientist, i had worked as Project Officer at Support Activities for Poor Producers of Nepal (SAPPROS) under Education for Income Generation (EIG) in Nepal Program funded by USAID/Winrock Int’l Institute for Agriculture Development based in Humla district, Nepal.
