Brief of Onkareshwar Pandey

A multi faceted Media Personality with 25 years Experience. Three time Editor. An Author, TV Commentator, Anchor, Producer & above all a keen Social Worker on various issues including Language, Media, Health, Women, Culture etc.

Mr. Onkareshwar Pandey has around 25 years Experience in both TV & Print Media from grassroots level to the Top. Television is his passion & Print is his base.  Started career in Journalism in 1986 from Patna. Worked in Guwahati for 6 years from 1989-95 as Feature Editor in Poorvanchal Prahari. Joined National Hindi Daily Rashtriya Sahara from Guwahati as North East Bureau Chief in 1991 and became Resident Editor in 2004. Also got experience to Launch RASHTRIYA SAHARA from Patna & a few more Magazines from Delhi, Patna & Guwahati.  Was in SAHARA SAMAY TV Channel for 5 years as Member, National Core Team.  Now working as Managing Editor (Accredited with PIB as an Editor (No. -1794) for one of the leading news magazines published in over 14 languages in India namely THE SUNDAY INDIAN, Hindi.

He is Executive President of Broadcasters Club of India, Founder of Global Bhojpuri Movement, Executive Director, Asia of Bhojpuri Association of India & Member of Advisory Board of Bhojpuri Study Centre, BHU, Varanasi.

His six books have been published and some others are in the pipeline. He is a regular TV commentator on Socio- Political issues, Guest Faculty in Journalism Departments of various Universities & Media Institutes of Delhi, Patna, Pune & Bhopal and regularly invited as Speaker in various Seminars / Workshops / Conferences in India & Abroad. He has traveled to Russia, Malayasia, Netherlands, UK & Belgium.

Mr. Pandey takes keen interest in Social Work & Philanthropy. Has been organizing Seminars, Workshops & other kinds of Events on Media, Entertainment and other issues in Delhi, Patna, Bhopal & Guwahati.

• Organised Round Table Conference on Foreign funded NGOs in India and the Government Policy on August 3rd 2012(Friday) at New Delhi
• Was Special Guest & Speaker in the “Consultative Round Table Meeting" on ‘Need for Post Release Rehabilitation Facility for Prisoners in India’ on October 6th, 2012 at New Delhi
• Organised a National Media Seminar in Delhi Titled- ‘JANVANE SE JANTA KI VANI” - 25 Years of Indian TV News since Janvani on 12th of March 2012.

• Organised First ever Trade Fair at Guwahati in 1995.
• Participated in International Video Conferencing from India on the subject Democracy Movement in Burma, 1995.
• Organised First ever Bi-lingual Folk Music Festival at Guwahati in 1992.
• Compeer with film star Paintal, for the Mahaparv Poorv-Sandhya Sammelan, a Film-star Nite

       organised by Sahara India Parivar, at Lucknow in 1993.
