Vrutti has mandated itself to improve the status and returns from agriculture of small and marginal farmers in India. This resolve follows from a study conducted by Catalyst Management Services (part of Catalysts group, which houses Vrutti also) in 2008 which shows abysmally poor status of returns from agriculture in tribal areas. As India has one of largest concentration of tribal population in the country, it is essential that agriculture development and agriculture based enterprise promotion takes place in these areas for any significant dent in poverty situation. Vrutti is working in many states in India for developing an innovation model of Agriculture Enterprise Facilitation Centre.
