Executive Committee
The Executive Committee of the EuFMD meets twice a year. The Executive Committee of the EuFMD and its officers (a Chairperson and two vice-chairs) are elected by EuFMD member nations at the biennial General Session. The committee comprises representatives from nine EuFMD Member Nations (seven that are from EU member states and two that are non-EU countries). At its six-monthly meetings, committee members are joined by representatives of the UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO), the World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH), the European Commission (DG-SANTÉ), the World Reference Laboratory for FMD (The Pirbright Institute) and the EU Reference Laboratory for FMD (ANSES/Sciensano). At these meetings, the EuFMD workplan is agreed and progress in implementation by the Secretariat is monitored.
