New video captures the essence of the Codex Alimentarius, or Food Code
To commemorate the achievements of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) in its 60 years of food standard-setting, FAO has produced a new video to underscore that the standards are about protecting consumer health and ensuring fair practices in the food trade. The video highlights that we all rely on Codex standards.
The Codex Alimentarius Commission, part of the Joint FAO/WHO Food Standards Programme, is run by FAO and WHO.Through an inclusive, collaborative, transparent and consensus-driven process, its 189 Members set international food standards which are recognized by the World Trade Organization as benchmark standards for food traded internationally.
The video will be promoted across FAO social media channels in all six official UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish).
