Mr. Gervais Nzoa, development specialist and former member of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) brings 28 years of professional experience on economic and social development, culture, the environment, education, health, human rights and indigenous issues. He has a Master's degree in law of the former Universty of Yaounde (Cameroon), a degree in technical development framework, a Diploma of Specialized Studied and certificates from the Pan African Institute for Development, Central Africa, Douala Cameroon. He is a strong advocate of indigenous capabilities; consolidating social and community cohesion through unified projects; and designs and support indigenous development programs. 

Mr. Nzoa worked as head of rural outreach/agricultural community programme (CeDAC-Sangmelima, Cameroon (1994-1999); Facilitator for area 3.2. of the Chad-Cameroon(2001-2005); Social sciences consultant of the United Nations Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), (2002-2005); Projects manager of the Association Camerounaise des droits de l'Homme et la Paix(2001-2021); Programme Officer of the United Nations Development Programme(UNDP), (2010-2012); member of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues(UNPFII), (2014-2019); Coordinator of the Centre d'accompagnement des alternatives locales de developpement(1999-2022).

 Mr. Nzoa has been intensely following the implementation 0f the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, the 2063 Agenda of the African Union, the final document of the World Conference on indigenous peoples, the United Nations Declaration of the Rights on Indigenous Peoples, the Convention 169 of the ILO, the CBD, the UNCCD, the Paris Agreement and the UNFCCC as well as the jurisprudence of UN bodies on the rights of human rights and indigenous issues. He studied economic, social and cultural status of indigenous peoples and published research works on indigenous issues.
