Rome, 12 March 2007 - President Olusegun Obasanjo of Nigeria pays visit
At a special event on "Sustainable agriculture in the face of climate change" that precedes the opening of FAO's Committee on Forestry (Rome, 13-15 March 2007), President Obasanjo calls for support to the Green Wall Sahara Initiative in order to save the African environment.
Director-General of FAO, Jacques Diouf, paid tribute to President Obasanjo for championing the virtues of agriculture and food security at home in Nigeria and in Africa.
