Since 2002, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture (BMEL) supports projects of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to erradicate hunger and malnutrition through a Bilateral Trust Fund (BTF). The projects aim at supporting the subject of "food security" at strategic level both in the FAO and in the partner countries. They are planned together with the FAO and structured in accordance with Germany’s government development policy guidelines, based on its support framework.

يساعد الدليل القارىء على كيفية الانخراط خطوة خطوة في التعاون فيما بين بلدان الجنوب كأداة مكملة للتعاون بين الشمال والجنوب، كوسيلة لتنفيذ ولاية المنظمة وتحقيق أهداف التنمية المستدامة. كما يوفر الأدوات اللازمة لتسليط الضوء على البلدان المشاركة في التعاون بين بلدان الجنوب، فضلا عن تشجيع الآخرين الذين لديهم ما يقدم.

The Guide is a useful starting point for FAO staff to understand RM at FAO. It forms part of the broader capacity package (already produced) providing links to other important tools, resources and the TCS Division and regional focal points for day-to-day assistance and coordination. It is meant to help FAO maintain a competitive edge and work to its comparative advantages and attract broader partnerships.
