On 14 October 2022 the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Mississippi State University (MSU) have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen innovative use of science, data and technology to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The FAO and MSU have a long-standing partnership, which began in 2010 and has been contributing to innovative aquaculture management for over a decade. The new partnership agreement will strengthen actions on One Health and Blue Transformation, specifically in planning and monitoring risk strategies on improved aquaculture biosecurity, and antimicrobial resistance. New areas of cooperation undertaken in the partnership will allow for scaling-up of extension and advisory services and enhancing informatics and technologies towards sustainable agrifood systems.

FAO speaks with David Shaw, Executive Vice President and Provost of MSU to hear his views on the partnership (video).
