Capacity development and experience sharing for rice value chains through South South and triangular cooperation
Through the consolidated SSTC mechanism, FAO promotes the exchange of knowledge and good practices based on the concept of solidarity and willingness to share and learn from one another. As countries share and exchange development solutions, they are able to co-learn, co-innovate, co-develop, and mutually improve relevant and sustainable technologies. SSTC is at the core of the Agenda 2030 as a means for knowledge sharing and partnership building, towards the achievement of all the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations’ (FAO) Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS) initiative aims to safeguard the world’s threatened agricultural heritage by promoting, at the global level, the identification, conservation and international recognition of remarkable agricultural heritage sites and their associated landscapes, agricultural biodiversity, knowledge systems and cultures. The FAO–China South-South Cooperation (SSC) project Strengthening the Implementation of the GIAHS Initiative through Capacity Development has promoted exchanges of experiences and technical knowledge among over 100 participating countries.
