Doug McGuire currently serves in two roles at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO):International Project Coordinator of the FAO EU-funded “Action Against Desertification” project and Coordinator of the Forest and Landscape Restoration Mechanism in the Forestry Department. His 25-year career at FAO includes overseeing work on natural forest management, planted forests, fire and health, forest genetic resources and wildlife and protected areas; managing field projects in watershed management and upland conservation and development in Madagascar and Rwanda and Coordinator of the Mountain Partnership Secretariat.
