| Soil Biodiversity: the root of sustainable agriculture |
| The work of FAOs Land and Plant Nutrition Management Service (AGLL) on soil biodiversity and soil ecosystem management was reported to Ninth Regular Session of the Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (CGRFA), held from 14-18 October 2002, as part of its work on agricultural biological diversity. CGRFA-9/02/14.1 Specific mention to soil biodiversity is made on paragraphs 46-52.
This was supported by the information document above: "Soil biodiversity and sustainable agriculture" provided to SBSTTA-7 in November 2001.

| A first selection of six case studies is included in this document which is part of the FAO proceedings of the Satellite event on the occasion of the Ninth Regular Session of the Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (CGRFA) held at FAO headquarters in October 12-13 2002.
