Distribution
Luvisols cover 650 million hectares with major concentrations in central and western Europe, the lands around the Mediterranean Sea and North America. Smaller areas occur in Australia and southeastern parts of the Republic of South Africa. Luvisols are mainly associated with Cambisols and Gleysols.
