The publications downloadable from this On-line Documents site of the Land and Water Development Division are available in a variety of formats. 

To download, simply click on the 'Download as...' link. 

Here is more information on the file types used:

• .doc (Microsoft Word)
• .pdf  (Adobe Acrobat)
• .csv (comma separated values)
• .htm

.doc (Microsoft-WORD)

MS-Word is a word processing software. If you do not have this program, there is a viewer for MS-WORD that can be downloaded from the Microsoft site

Files in .pdf format can be viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. This software can be downloaded free from the Adobe site

.csv (comma separated values)

".csv" indicates a file with data separated by commas (,). This file type is compatible with most of the spreadsheet programs, including Excel, Lotus, etc. Some word processor programs (including MS-Word) can also be used to view these spreadsheets in tables.

If you do not have any of the programs above, there is a viewer for MS-EXCEL that can be downloaded from the Microsoft site

.htm

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language and is the language of the Internet.

Any Web page can be downloaded in HTML format. To download in HTML format, select the "Save/Save as file" option in your Web browser (this option appears under "File" on the toolbar of Netscape, Explorer and some other browsers). This copies the file from the Internet to your computer.

You do not have to be connected to the Internet to read HTML files. After the file has downloaded to your computer, you can disconnect from the Internet.

To read the file from your computer, open your browser. Instead of loading a Web page, under "File" select "open" and the file name from your computer.
Note:The images will not appear in files downloaded in this way.
