In order to address the threat to the health of women and children caused by under-nutrition and food insecurity recognized by the Royal Government of Cambodia and the United Nations (UN) country team, a UN Joint Programme (JP), funded by the Government of Spain under the Millennium Development Goal Fund, leverages the expertise of key government partners, UN agencies and other crucial stakeholders.

The overall objective of PADEE is to improve agricultural productivity and to diversify the sources of income of rural people living in poverty in five provinces that have a high ratio of poor rural households.

The project goal is to promote responsible, productive, and sustainable management of forest resources by local communities to meet their needs and to stimulate development. This is expected achieved by building the knowledge and capacity of FA and CF User Groups in sustainable forest management and on responsible utilization of forest resources and nation-wide networks of stakeholders.
