تؤثر الحرب في أوكرانيا على ملايين الأشخاص وتجبر أعدادًا كبيرة من السكان على النزوح. ويهدد تدمير البنية التحتية والأسواق الزراعية أو إلحاق الضرر بها وتعطيل سلاسل الإمداد الغذائية، الأمن الغذائي للسكان الضعفاء في الأساس. وقد تأثرت بشدة سبل العيش القائمة على الزراعة، وهي مصدر رئيسي للدخل لـنحو 30 في المائة من السكان. وفي حين أن العديد من الأوكرانيين يفرون من مجتمعاتهم و/أو من البلاد، بقيت نسبة كبيرة من السكان حيثما هي، وهم يواجهون تحديات شديدة، وبالتالي يحتاجون إلى مساعدة إنسانية في قطاعات عدّة. وتساعد التدخلات الزراعية الطارئة الرئيسية لصالح صغار المنتجين الذين يؤدون دورًا حاسمًا في المساهمة في الأمن الغذائي في البلاد، على استدامة الحياة وسبل المعيشة.
