Workshop proposes information fields for Global Record information system

Delegates from several Central American States proposed tangible steps towards the integration of national registers to the SIRPAC and the Global Record project, in a workshop held in San Pedro Sula, Honduras (6 – 9 March 2012), as part of the Capacity Development programme in the Global Record project.

Delegations from fisheries offices of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and Dominican Republic together with FAO and OSPESCA experts and representatives from MarViva and WWF proposed the actual information fields necessary for the Global Record information system.

During the same workshop, the delegates elaborated a Work Plan with recommendations on the specific actions needed, at national and regional level, in the Central American region.
