Under the implementation of the framework of five-year (2023-2027) cooperation between the United Nations and the Government of Mongolia, FAO Mongolia organized an induction workshop and presented the scope, goals and directions of the Country Programming Framework to be implemented in Mongolia to the stakeholders (Government, International Organizations, Civil Society Organizations, Professional Associations and representatives of the private sector) to reflect the opinions.

The participants in the discussion deliberated the extent of cooperation, the expected results, how the areas of activity are aligned with the priority goals of Mongolia's development policy, and expressed their opinions in which areas it would be more beneficial to contribute. To support the consumption of nutritious and healthy food that is accessible to everyone, especially vulnerable groups, and to apply the "One Health" principle to improve the policies and systems of the agricultural sector, which provides integrated management of animal, plant, human health and food safety. The participants received valuable suggestions on transitioning to a greener, resource-efficient, less greenhouse gas footprint, competitive agriculture and food system, and expanding market opportunities using digital solutions and innovative technologies.

In addition, the participants expressed many interesting proposals in the field of creating a favorable legal, policy and strategic environment and strengthening structural mechanisms to overcome climate change and increase the capacity to respond to disasters and emergencies, especially for herders who rely on limited resources for the rural population and ecosystem.
