AGORA increases access to valuable sources now boasting up to 74,000 total resources

15 Sep 2021

AGORA continues to expand its access to thousands of valuable information resources covering agriculture, fisheries, food, nutrition, and more in public institutions across the world, now featuring up to 74,000 total resources including subscription based scientific journals and ebooks. Subscription-based journals and major scientific books remain important sources of high-quality scientific information that are crucial in advancing higher education, improving the ability to share findings, and informing public policy decisions.

With the increase in resources available through AGORA, along with HinariOAREARDI, and GOALIResearch4Life now boasts up to 151,000 total resources including subscription based scientific journals, major scientific books and other valuable information resources.

This continued expansion to provide organizations with increased free or low-cost access to paywalled scientific literature will help to substantially improve the quality and effectiveness of agricultural research and education in low and medium-income member countries.

The increase in resources available through AGORA comes on the heels of the launch of a new, updated content portal, which will greatly improve the overall user experience and improve users’ ability to access available resources through AGORA. The new AGORA content portal, launched on 1 July 2021, is the main hub for AGORA users to access free, or low-cost subscription based scientific journals and e-books in the fields of food, agriculture, environmental science and related social sciences.
