Grassroots Evidence For Agroecology : Launch Of The Online Catalogue
Strengthening evidence for agroecology is crucial in addressing today’s global challenges, yet the voices of those at the forefront—small-scale farmers, grassroots organizations, and local communities—often go unheard. The Agroecology Fund (AEF), working in over 90 countries, is committed to changing this by co-creating and amplifying knowledge that emerges from the ground up. Through the Grassroots Evidence for Agroecology (GEA) initiative, launched in collaboration with Statistics for Sustainable Development (Stats4SD), AEF is equipping grassroots organizations with tools to document and communicate their impact more effectively.
Since its inception in 2021, GEA has developed a participatory methodology, piloted with grassroots groups, and in 2024, introduced an online course to expand access to this approach. Now, 15 organizations have contributed their experiences to the GEA Online Catalogue, a digital platform showcasing evidence built from the grassroots perspective. This initiative enables communities to strengthen their advocacy and provide policymakers, donors, and researchers with firsthand insights into agroecology’s transformative potential.
To explore these findings and hear directly from grassroots organizations in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, join the upcoming webinar on February 25 at 10 AM EDT (UTC-4). This event will highlight how communities are documenting their successes and shaping a more inclusive and evidence-driven conversation around agroecology.
