AquaCrop est un modèle de croissance des cultures développé par la Division des terres et eaux de la FAO pour traiter la sécurité alimentaire et évaluer l'effet de l'environnement et de la gestion sur la production agricole. AquaCrop permet de simuler la réponse du rendement des cultures herbacées à l'eau et est adapté aux conditions où l’eau est un facteur limitant clé de la production agricole. AquaCrop combine précision, simplicité et vigueur. Pour garantir sa facilité d’utilisation seuls quelques paramètres explicites sont utilisés, principalement des variables d'entrée intuitives qui peuvent être déterminées à l'aide de méthodes simples.

Ce programme est le modèle standard de productivité de l'eau des cultures développé indépendamment par la Division des terres et de l'eau de la FAO.
Ce programme permet d'exécuter différents projets, définis dans la version window standard de AquaCrop, et de stocker les résultats dans les fichiers de sortie. Ce programme peut être utilisé dans les applications où des opérations itératives sont requises, telles que l'environnement GIS.
