Publications from the Subregional Office for the Pacific

The FAO Subregional Office for the Pacific Islands (FAO SAP) is a technical hub which supports 14 countries in the Pacific. It is responsible for developing, overseeing and implementing programmes and projects to address food security, nutrition, agriculture and rural development priorities.

The member countries are the Cook Islands, Fiji, Federated States of Micronesia, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu. Tokelau is an Associate Member.

These publications are records of the some of the projects and activities done by the FAO in the Pacific region.

Food Consumption in Kiribati: Based on analysis of the 2019/20 household income and expenditure survey

Published in conjunction with SPC, this analysis found that on average one I-Kiribati in 12 does not have access to the amount of dietary energy needed to maintain a normal, active and healthy life.
