Collaborative Partnership on Forests


The Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF) today opened nominations for the 7th  Wangari Maathai Forest Champions Award, an honour granted to individuals who have made extraordinary efforts to improve the world’s forests and the lives of people who depend on them.

The Collaborative Partnership on Forests today called for urgent global action to unlock the potential of forests for people and the planet, with only seven years remaining to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and the Global Forest Goals.

The 18th Session of the UN Forum on Forests (UNFF18) convened from UN headquarters in New York from 8 to 12 May, where FAO brought forward messages of innovation, policy coherence, and investment incentives to help drive forward forest conservation, restoration and sustainable use pathways.


FAO Forestry will play a key role in contributing to the deliberations of the upcoming United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF18).
