FAO in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka has been a member of FAO since 1948, with a fully-fledged Representation established in 1979. FAO supports the Government of Sri Lanka in advancing sustainable agrifood systems by strengthening agriculture, livestock, fisheries, forestry, and natural resource management, while also responding to emerging socio-economic and climate-related challenges.
FAO Priorities in Sri Lanka
Through its Country Programming Framework (2023 - 2027), FAO works to enhance food security, improve nutrition, build resilience, and promote inclusive and sustainable rural development, contributing to better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life for all Sri Lankans.
