Dr. Amir Sasan Mozaffari Nejad obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Food Science and Engineering from Islamic Azad University, Iran, and his Master’s degree in Microbiology from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, India, where he successfully defended his thesis in 2013. He subsequently received a competitive fellowship to pursue his Ph.D. in Medical Virology at Hamadan University of Medical Sciences, Iran, completing his doctoral research in 2021.

He is currently an Assistant Professor of Virology at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Iran. His research expertise spans a broad range of public health and biomedical fields, including emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, oncolytic viruses, mycotoxins, natural products, food safety, and innovative strategies for infectious disease control and cancer therapy. His work places particular emphasis on virus-based therapeutic approaches and the health impacts of foodborne pathogens.

In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Mozaffari Nejad holds several prestigious national and international roles. He serves as a Young Ambassador of the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) in Iran, a National Ambassador for ReviewerCredits, and the Scientific Director of the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network (USERN) Office at Jiroft University of Medical Sciences. He also acts as an ambassador for Bentham Science Publishers (UAE), supporting scholarly publishing and international academic collaboration.

He has authored and co-authored more than 70 peer-reviewed articles and contributed to six book chapters across four academic books. He is actively engaged in scientific publishing as an associate editor and editorial board member of several international journals and regularly serves as a peer reviewer in the fields of virology, microbiology, food safety, and public health.

He is strongly committed to mentoring and collaboration and actively welcomes opportunities to work with scientists and early-career researchers worldwide.
